I have been asked by ~VeratheVix to complete eighty last musical sketches that ~randomonlooker was not able to finish or had left unfinished. A few of these, Vera tells me, are dedicated to some users of DA and so I will post those here for them to hear. The material I worked with was fairly scarce and so most of the music is my own doing, though the motifs and main harmonic ideas are those of my late cousin, I pray that I have done them justice, though I know that he would never write music in the style that I have here.
This particular piece is titled "Consider the Universe" and is dedicated to *Nanook94 with this little description under it (translated):
On an early autumn eve a creature walks out of its abode and sits, observing the cosmos, the uncountable suns and endless galaxies. This sight overwhelms the being, its imagination unbounded, images of nebulas, novas, lights of every shape rush into its head. Fascinated and awestruck the majestic animal returns to its den and sleeps. Here a whimsical dream plays out.
I hope you all enjoy this little reconstruction of the music, I have tried to evoke what was written in that passage whilst keeping to the general musical material that already existed.
this is a piano solo, of course. You can click the text which says "Sonatina for Piano" to see the image that Vera told me probably inspired the music.
Wow. This is... so incredibly beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, thank you so much! My, this music is really touching, such a soft and sweet melody, a slight melancholic touch, one can imagine the stars dancing to the music. (I am getting romantic here as it seems) No, honestly, wonderful. Thank you.
It was an honour and a pleasure (I must add that he had quite a good taste in artists! Your work is something to behold!). It's always nice to know that work like this is appreciated, I'm sure that Daniel would have been ecstatic to read your words. You're, of course, more than welcome. (Though I did do a little more than just perform it, but never-mind! Heh.)
